Sevix 400 belongs to a group of medications called ‘phosphate binder’ (which decrease the level of phosphate in the body). It is primarily used to control high phosphate levels in the body (hyperphosphataemia) in adult patients on dialysis (a blood clearance technique), patients undergoing hemodialysis (using a blood filtration machine), and patients with chronic kidney disease. It is also used for the treatment of bone disease. Sevix 400 contains active ingredient Sevelamer. It is indicated to control serum phosphorous levels in patients with chronic kidney disease on dialysis. |

Contraindication
Patients who have low levels of phosphate in blood should avoid taking Sevix 400mg Tablet. Additionally, patients having intestinal obstruction should also avoid using Sevix 400mg Tablet.
Drug Interactions
Sevix 400 may interfere with the effectiveness of some drugs (including ciprofloxacin, mycophenolate, thyroid medications such as levothyroxine, among others) by making it more difficult for them to be absorbed by the stomach.
