Febutex 40 tablet is a medicine used for the treatment of elevated uric acid levels in blood in conditions such as gouty arthritis. Gouty arthritis is a common type of arthritis that is very painful with deposition of uric acid in joints causing sudden attacks of redness, swelling, pain and heat. Febutex 40 tablet contains febuxostat as active ingredient. It works by decreasing the formation of uric acid in the body. |

Uses
Febutex 40 Tablet is used to treat and prevent gout.
Side effect
Febutex 40 may cause common side effects such as abnormal liver test results, diarrhea, headache, rash, nausea, and even an increase in gout symptoms and localized swelling due to retention of fluids in tissues (edema).
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to Febutex is a contraindication. In addition, Febutex should not be used if you have the following conditions:
• Co-administration with azathioprine, mercaptopurine, or theophylline.
Drug Interactions
Febutex 40 interacts with anticancer medications (mercaptopurine, methotrexate), immunosuppressant medications (azathioprine), antidiabetic medications (rosiglitazone), and antiasthma medications (theophylline).
